From an early age, I was taught the value of hard work, integrity, and perseverance. My Uncle Grover, a towering 6’8″ Army officer, was a man of discipline and dedication—qualities he instilled in me and my family. I still remember his words vividly: “When you do a job, you do it to the best of your ability, or you don’t do it at all.” That lesson became the foundation of my work ethic, guiding me through every stage of my professional and personal life. My journey began humbly, delivering newspapers on the streets of Chicago as a young boy. From there, I moved through a variety of roles—working in warehouse retail, custodial services, and grocery stores—each experience teaching me valuable lessons in resilience, responsibility, and adaptability.

Later, I took on a role as a lighting technician at a community college, where I developed an eye for precision and problem-solving. Eventually, I transitioned into telecommunications as a telephone installation and repair technician, where my ability to work efficiently and accurately became a defining trait in my career. Throughout the years, I have been privileged to work alongside some of the most dedicated and hardworking individuals—both in the military and civilian sectors. The teams I have been part of have not only shaped my professional growth but have also reinforced the importance of collaboration, integrity, and commitment to excellence. The recognition and accolades I have received over the years are a testament not just to my own efforts, but to the incredible people I have had the opportunity to work with.

For me, success has never been about shortcuts or quick fixes. It has always been about showing up, doing the work, and taking pride in a job well done. Whether in my personal life or my professional career, I live by one simple mantra: Get it done, and get it done right the first time. As the saying goes, “Get-R-Done!”

Today, I carry that same philosophy into everything I do, always striving to push boundaries, embrace challenges, and inspire others to put their best foot forward. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about the work we do—it’s about how we do it, and the impact we leave behind.
